Psychoeducation is a series of sessions where the patient learns about anxiety, such as the physiology of the fight-or-flight response and how to use relaxation techniques.

Changing your daily routine can also help reduce the symptoms of anxiety. It is recommended that you exercise regularly, and eat a balanced diet. It is also important to avoid substances such as nicotine in cigarettes and caffeine, which can make the symptoms worse. Seek support from friends and family, and try to avoid alcohol or other drugs. You can also use relaxation and stress management techniques such as mindfulness, meditation or yoga.
