What You Need For Your New Baby Pack

Baby Pack: The arrival of a new baby is one of the most joyful moments in life, but also one of the most stressful and expensive. With all the products on offer, it can be hard to know what you need and what you can safely skip.

Babies need clothes, a bed and equipment to keep them warm and clean. It’s a good idea to make sure you have everything prepared before your due date. This will help to reduce stress (solo store runs with a crying baby are not fun) and ensure you don’t miss any essentials when you’re rushing around trying to get ready.

While it might be tempting to stock up on all the newest gear, it’s important to focus on what’s really necessary for your newborn. You can save money by registering for a baby shower and asking friends and family to buy you the things you need or simply shopping at discounted prices.

The items you’ll need include a layette (set of newborn clothing) for the hospital, a changing mat and a change pad that secures to a dresser, a baby carrier or wrap to keep your little one close and a crib or moses basket to put your baby into when they come home.

You’ll also need a large diaper bag to carry diapers, wipes and other necessities on every outing. Look for a bag that fits a large number of cloth diapers as well as disposable ones and has plenty of pockets to hold bottles, pacifiers, medicines and other accessories.

Other useful equipment includes a nappy bin, which will make it easier to sort and dispose of dirty nappys and will help you to stay organised. You’ll also need a chest of drawers, wardrobe or closet to keep all your newborn’s clothes organised.

Newborn babies spend a lot of time sleeping, so they’ll need plenty of sleepwear. Consider a set of pajamas, sleepers or sleeping sacks that cover their feet, as well as a baby blanket to swaddle them with. A hat or cap is a nice addition to keep their head warm.

Lastly, a baby shower is the perfect time to ask friends and family for hand-me-downs. You’ll find that your little one grows out of clothes and toys incredibly quickly and it’s nice to be able to take advantage of other parents’ generosity!

Some big-ticket items like car seats and strollers may be too expensive to purchase on your own. However, if you’re registered with a retailer or a groupon, it might be a good idea to check in with them to see if they have any deals on for your due date.

Once your baby is born, you’ll want to capture all their precious moments with some beautiful photographs. A photoshoot session will be a wonderful keepsake and you might even want to pick up a few extras such as a photo album or a newborn photography guide.
